Writing Assignment / Critical Analysis .The writing assignment for this course is a critical analysis of an art piece and a biographical sketch of the artist. There are 2 assignments that will be due within the semester. The instructions for each assignment are located within Modules 6 and 12. Each writing assignment consists of two parts: a one-page biographical sketch of an artist, plus a one-page critical analysis of an art piece by that same artist. Here are the instructions for each:Biographical sketch - This portion of the writing assignment should be comprised of biographical information on an artist of your choice. Length: At least 3 complete paragraphs Suggestions for material: Name, date and place of birth and death, family information, lifetime accomplishments, famous art pieces, effects or impact on society, historical significanceCritical Analysis - Choose a work of art by the same artist and from the same unit based on principles of design and the elements of art. This portion of the writing assignment should be your own opinion of a work of art by the same artist you chose for the biographical essay. The work of art must come from your textbook. Include the title of the work and the name of the artist.Provide a bibliographical reference. Must be 1 page in length (at least 3 complete paragraphs).
