Your responses to your classmates should be 150-words minimum. There are many factors that can influence students achievement in the classroom, such as disabilities, social/economic status, and family relationships. These factors can influence how a child pays attention in the classroom, retains information being taught, and the relationships they have within the classroom. With numerous disabilities effecting children now a days, education has had to make serious changes. Children with disabilities such as speech delays, cognitive disabilities, or physical disabilities, learning can tend to be a challenge. Teachers have to have special trainings on the factor and may have to bring in specialist to the classroom to use as a resource or even a primary caregiver. Children are given the same opportunity to learn, but may need special techniques if they need assistance learning information. Children in education environments come from different economic backgrounds. Children come from high class, middle class, and lower class environments and all those can affect the environment of the classroom. Children from lower class environments may not have the proper nutrition, may not have a safe place to sleep, or may not have the opportunities for education that some higher class families have. This can cause an issue in the attention a child gives to school and poor nutrition can tend to cause a lack of retention of information. Stronger relationships with family members can allow children to have a better interest and understanding of educational information. Children with poor family relationships may not want to come to school and may not have an interest in learning. This can also help children build relationships within the classroom, which can influence a child to come to class and learn in a happy environment. These factors can cause a child to be labeled in the school system. Some may be offered technical assistance to help them in the educational setting. Others may not be labeled, but will stand out to teachers and may need extra assistance from teachers to excel in school. Having a one size fits all approach to learning, more than likely will not work in a classroom. Children are all different and require different amounts of attention and different teaching styles, in order to truly learn the information teachers are trying to teach. Teachers must adjust their teaching strategies in order to best fit each child.
