Grammarly, John Hyatt response help
Respond to this post in 125 words or more. The top three issues that Grammarly uncovered in my writing are my use of Passive Voice, Weak Adjectives, and Repetitive Words. I was a little surprised about my use of weak adjectives. I learned that I rely too much on intensifiers. I searched for some of the synonyms for the words I used often and replaced many of them. Specifically, Grammarly stated calling something very important suggests that the writer isnot confident enough tosimply declare that the thing isimportant and must instead rely onacrutch word. I was unaware that I was using crutch words, but I now am reading through my draft and finding that I truly am using them. As with WriteLab, Grammarly is a great tool! I will be running my draft through several times to learn the common mistakes that I run into when writing. I did notice that WriteLab and Grammarly find similar mistakes, however, there are differences. I plan on running my essay through both programs once I finish my draft. I think my writing will improve with the use of both programs, and hopefully I will learn well enough that I wont have to rely on the use of these programs.
