New business with business plan--discussion question

If you have a winning idea for a new business why do you have to develop a business plan?  What do you need to know before establishing your business?Do all of the entrepreneurs that try to raise money on Shark Tank have solid business plans?  (If you have never seen or heard of Shark Tank, take the opportunity to do so)(Please provide good quality and original Response.
