Hackers may not have been perceived as serious criminals in the past, but they certainly are now, discussion help
I do not feel very comfortable with sharing a great deal ofinformation over the internet. I do very little banking/bill paying online, andhave my social media accounts set to private. My comfort level is definitelyinfluenced by a fear of my personal information being obtained by some hackerwho wants to use my personal information to take over my identity or deplete myaccounts. I know a number of people who have had their PayPal accounts emptiedor who have completed transactions online, only to have mysterious charges showup on their accounts. Hackers may not have been perceived as serious criminals inthe past, but they certainly are now. There are whole crime-fightingorganizations devoted to cybercrimes, academic journals, and varioustechnological advances aimed at helping the good guys to fight cybercrime(Yeung, 2011). No longer is hacking considered something to take lightly;government, business, and personal arenas are all at risk and need to take thethreat seriously. References:Yeung, B.
