A stalk of celery is placed in salt water, what happens?I think the environment would be hypertonic, but is that correct? Then, is the actual celery stalk hypertonic, hypotonic, or isotonic? Will the water flow in or out of the cell? Then, when the celery stalk is placed in the salt water it becomes limp and rubbery? But why?
